In the 19th Century an American-German professor at Indiana University named "Henry Albert Fischel" Invented the exam.
Although he was a Professor emeritus of near eastern languages at Indiana university, he was also a very influential figure especially in the founding of Jewish studies in his University.
It was also under his influence that the Lilly Endowment a large philanthropic private organization founded in the year 1937 by Josiah .K Lilly and his son's.
 They gave the University a grant in the year 1972-1973 to develop a Jewish study program in the Indiana University.

The first country to be recognized to have implemented a mode or form of accessing a subject was the Ancient China
Henry Fischel's philosophy of exam came after this country already had an idea about Accessing or assessment.
China's government had organized a form of assesment known to be the 'Imperial System Examination'. 
The first Dynasty to first set this imperial examination was the Sui Dynasty in the year 605 AD. The main purpose for the exam was to choose people who will come and serve in the government position although, through some sources it is believed that China later abolish that form and system of appointment in the year 1905.

The next country to be known to widely implement the system was England in the year 1806. The main purpose was to select worthy and qualifying candidate to serve in Her Majesty's Civil Service although, as time flies, this method of assesment was refined and adapted as "Education". This new system (education) began spreading and extending to different parts of the world as they began to form the basis of many country's system of assesment.

The Cambridge is known to be one of the most prestigious universities in the world and also, it's listed among the Ivy league colleges.
During the 19th century different schools across england meet with the Oxford and Cambridge University to issue a form of standardized test for only males. During this time only male student are allowed examination. On the December 14th, 1958 the first Cambridge Assessment was taken by students either in schools or churches.
